FACIAL FAT INJECTIONS

Facial Injections

There are many non-surgical and surgical facial rejuvenation techniques which result in a natural-looking appearance and smooth, firm facial skin. The type of treatment you choose depends on the result you desire. At your in-depth, thorough consultation, Dr. Sliwin will recommend the techniques best suited to meet your aesthetic goals.

Facial fat injections

Facial fat injections are just one of the soft tissue augmentation procedures available at Dr. Sliwin’s Forest Hill Institute of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Facial fat injections are a surgical procedure which can correct some of the signs of aging and restore volume and firmness to facial skin. Loss of volume is one of the main signs of aging skin. This loss of volume is part of the natural aging process, as the collagen which creates the skin’s texture degrades with age. But with the facial fat injections procedure, fat is injected to restore youthful volume.

Side effects usually consist of swelling, which will reduce within 2-3 weeks. The amount of swelling depends on the facial area injected. Temporary bruising or numbness are other common side effects.

Other soft tissue augmentation procedures

There are other permanent facial injectables and dermal fillers, such as Artecoll, which may be appropriate for the aesthetic result you desire. Dr. Sliwin will help you choose the procedures best suited for you.

Other soft tissue augmentation procedures include temporary facial injectables and dermal fillers, such as Juvederm or Radiesse.

Botox, for example, temporarily relaxes the muscles which, when contracted, cause wrinkles to form. Botox is particularly effective for lines round the eyes, and frown lines between the eyebrows. When combined with a dermal filler like Juvederm, other lines and wrinkles can be smoothed away.

These non-surgical procedures will successfully rejuvenate your appearance, and can delay the time when a surgical facelift may be necessary.

Combination therapies

While some soft tissue augmentations are permanent, no treatment can stop the natural aging process. A surgical facelift is the most effective facial rejuvenation treatment. Facelifts remove sagging or excess skin caused by aging and the effects of gravity.

A facelift, brow lift, or eye lift will create a permanent improvement in your appearance. With a facelift, also known as a rhytidectomy, Dr. Sliwin rejuvenates your face by tightening the skin, and removing sagging skin to create a smoother, firmer face. Facial muscles will be subtly repositioned, giving you a natural appearance.

The skin, once removed, will not grow back. And using these surgical techniques in combination with soft tissue procedures such as facial fat injections can create a significant aesthetic effect.

Of course, the natural aging process will continue. Damage from the sun’s UV rays is one of the main causes of aging skin, as is the effect of gravity, which leads to sagging or drooping skin. Protecting your skin from sun damage, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, is the best way to keep your skin looking rejuvenated.

With a combination treatment, your skin will be tighter, and will no longer sag. Wrinkles will be lifted away. And your skin will also be plumper and firmer, looking and feeling younger.
