Please continue reading to learn more about liposuction in Toronto.

Liposuction: Is It For Me?

Liposuction slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing stubborn excess fat deposits that do not respond to diet and exercise. While liposuction can significantly improve your body contours and proportions, it is not a weight loss procedure. Instead, liposuction is a method of removing fat cells from problem areas.

How long will liposuction results last? Once the fat cells are removed from a specific area, they don’t return; however, liposuction does not prevent weight gain in other areas.

Will this surgery leave a scar and how can the healing be accelerated? Minimal scarring occurs at the insertion point for the cannula tube. The scars are very small (less than 1 cm) and inconspicuously located.

How much time off will I need after my liposuction surgery? 1 week.

Do I need to stay overnight? No, however, follow-up visits to the clinic are required so Dr. Sliwin can monitor recovery.

When can I return to doing exercise? Minimum 2 weeks for light cardio.

Do I need to wear a special garment? Yes. There is a first stage compression garment to be worn for a minimum of 2 weeks that holds the area tight to control swelling and fluids in the area. Then, there is a second stage garment to be worn for another 2 weeks.
