Scarborough / Toronto Eyelid Surgery Specialist
Dr. Sammy Sliwin

Numerous patients from throughout the greater Toronto area have sought out Dr. Sliwin as their Toronto eyelid surgery specialist. At his cosmetic surgery Toronto and Scarborough offices, all patients are treated with the utmost attentiveness and respect, an approach that allows them to relax and enjoy their beautification experience. In the paragraphs below, Dr. Sliwin explains eyelid surgery and the results his blepharoplasty Toronto patients can achieve through it.

Upper and Lower Eyelid Surgery Procedure

Upper eyelid surgery: Incisions are made in the eye crease. Excess fat is removed and skin is gently tightened. This removes the droopiness and wrinkled excess skin in the upper eyelids that can give the appearance of tiredness and can make eyelids feel heavy.

Lower eyelid surgery: Incisions are made right under the lash line or through the inside of the lower lid. Excess fat is removed and skin tightened. This eliminates the under eye bagginess and the redundant skin and tightens the lower lids.

How long will the results last? Results are permanent; however, aging and lifestyle can affect your appearance.

Will eyelid surgery leave a scar? Minimal scarring appears where incisions are made, but they are rarely visible. Bruising which varies from patient to patient, is not permanent and can normally be covered with makeup. It is best to leave the area clean and dry (usually 10 days – 2 weeks) until Dr. Sliwin advises the patient that makeup can be worn.

How much time off will I need after my surgery? 1–2 weeks.

Do I need to stay overnight? No, however, follow-up visits will be required after the surgery to monitor recovery.

What if I need to wear glasses? Wearing glasses will not pose a problem.
